Construction Activity at Showbend Lane and Jim Miller Road
January 17, 2023 - Active construction at the corner of Showbend Lane and Jim Miller Road will begin the week of January 16 and is estimated to be completed by January 31. Preliminary site excavations have already begun.
Expect occasional construction noise, sidewalk and road closures. The far-right lane of Northbound Jim Miller Road, just south of Showbend Lane, is one anticipated closure. Unloading equipment might also cause intermittent obstructions along Showbend Lane, but the construction team will try to keep them outside of peak traffic hours. Residents who normally access Jim Miller Road via Showbend Lane may avoid this construction area by taking Everglade Road instead.
A traffic control plan has been implemented for necessary precautions. You can view the plan below in this post.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to work on the Jim Miller Pump Station to ensure safe and reliable water for our customers. If you have any questions or concerns, please use the contact form on this website or call 469-249-9359.

Wastewater Line Replacement
December 19, 2022 - The onsite team is completing construction on the replacement of a 12-inch wastewater line in the alleyway between Everglade Park and the 6100 block of Symphony Lane.
Although construction requires temporary disruption of the alleyway, road plates have been installed to avoid road closures. Wastewater line installation will not affect water service to customers.
We appreciate the patience of park users and especially the residents of Symphony Lane as we continue to make progress on renovating the pump station. Stay tuned for additional project updates.

Landscape Maintenance
November 9, 2022 - Throughout the duration of The Jim Miller Pump Station & Reservoir’s renovation, the surrounding landscaping will go through multiple iterations as we prioritize the renovation of the building and equipment. While the landscaping is usually the last thing to be implemented, we will still be conducting routine maintenance on the landscaping around the construction site, including scheduled mowing to prevent grass from growing too tall. Below, you can see the recent mowing that took place.

Construction Activity at Everglade Park
August 12, 2022 - Construction activity is currently underway at Everglade Park to prepare for planned upgrades to the Jim Miller Pump Station, next to the park. The preliminary work includes a new bypass walking trail and relocation of the exercise stations.
